Who we are

DOM MOM is a documentary by mother and son — artist Sheree Rose and filmmaker Matthew Howard Levin — about art, survival, and family.

For over five decades, Sheree has been a fearless performance artist, activist, and cultural provocateur, challenging norms around the body, power, illness, and sexuality. Her groundbreaking collaboration with Bob Flanagan was immortalized in the award-winning documentary SICK (Special Jury Prize, Sundance 1997).

But before she was a legend, she was a mom.

Through humor, vulnerability, and hard-earned perspective, Matthew turns the camera inward to explore what it means to grow up inside radical art — and to remain deeply loved within it.

DOM MOM is a story about making a scene, making a life, and making a family.
